Reigate and Banstead Borough Councillors Adam De Save and Steve Farrer attended the Swedish International Three Day Eventing Team’s build up training for the World Equestrian Games at Littleton Manor Equestrian (‘LMEQ’), Reigate. The Team utilised the facilities that have helped LMEQ attain a prestigious involvement in the build up to London 2012 as one of an elite group of venues that have been asked to be official Pre Games Training Camps where athletes acclimatise before 2012.

Council is using Compost Awareness Week (2-10 May 2010) to encourage more Reigate residents to start recycling their kitchen, household and garden waste by composting at home. “Give it a grow”, the theme of this year’s Compost Awareness Week, aims to encourage us all to try something different, like having a go at home composting or extending the range of waste we compost to do our bit for the environment.

Detailed proposals for a £3.4m revamp of Donyngs Recreation Centre in Redhill are on show and the Council is calling on local residents to have their say on the improvement plans as part of a two-week consultation. A display in Donyngs’ foyer shows the new layout for the centre, artist’s impressions of the proposed new facilities and information about the refurbishment programme, along with feedback forms so customers can give their views.

Reigate & Banstead Borough Council’s recycling team is hitting the road over the coming months to bring the “reduce, reuse and recycle” message out to residents to help them waste less, and hopefully save money at the same time.

Reigate local Borough Councillors have today formally launched www.reigatecouncillors.co.uk, a website aimed at provide regular updates to Reigate residents covering local issues.
Residents from Reigate Hill, Reigate Central, Meadvale & St John’s and South Park & Woodhatch will be able to view the latest news, comment on articles, and contact their local councillors direct through the site.
Bands wanted to perform at Priory Park Community Festival
Reigate & Banstead Borough Council and the Reigate Events Collective are looking for Bands, musicians or performers to perform at this years Priory Park Community Festival.
The Festival takes place in the park, in Reigate, on Saturday 26 June 2010 from 11.00am until 5.00pm.

Series of events has something for everyone, from children to families and adults. Since the restoration of Priory Park was completed in 2008, the park’s staff have been working hard to develop an interesting and varied programme of events throughout the year.
